Everybody is different, but my rook piercing was the most agonizing one I've ever had. It hurt far more than my other cartilage piercings!
Don't do what I did and get yours done by a CBR. Put a curved barbell to use. My piercing developed a terrible discomfort bump, but as soon as I switched to a curved barbell, it cleared up on its own.
Rook piercings can take anywhere between six months and a year to heal completely, although the first recovery period should last for six to eight weeks.
